🎬 We are opening the new season with a masterpiece of Ukrainian cinema - the film “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors” by Serhiy Paradzhanov. We will be showing the restored version made in 2012.

📖 “Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors,” released in 1965, is an adaptation of the novella of the same name by Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky.

🌍 The film gained worldwide fame and was showcased at festivals in Venice, Locarno, Barcelona, New York, and London.

At the center of the plot is a novice musician named Kuzma. He sets off with his friend to Berlin in an old “Pobeda” car, where he plans to exchange it for a Mercedes 600 from a German collector and impress his girlfriend.
